Find the Right Simulation

Every simulation on sims.science is aligned to one or more NGSS Performance Expectations. You can browse by science domain or search by keyword.

  • Browse by domain — Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, Earth & Space, Engineering, or Logic & Puzzles
  • Search by standard — Use the search bar to find simulations aligned to a specific PE code (e.g., HS-PS1-1)
  • Preview before assigning — Each simulation page shows its description, controls, and related NGSS standards
  • Ready-made tasks — Many simulations include pre-screeners, investigations, and post-screeners

Invite Your Students

Once your class is set up, share the class code with your students. They join from their own dashboard — no email or personal info required.

  • Share the code — Display it on your board or share via Google Classroom
  • Students join — They enter the code at the student dashboard
  • Track progress — See which simulations each student has completed
  • Assign tasks — Send specific simulations or task packets to your class

Pro Tips for Teachers

🗓️ Start Small

Pick one simulation and try it with a single class before scaling up. Most teachers find students can start exploring with zero instruction.

📋 Use Task Packets

Many simulations come with pre-built NGSS tasks — pre-screeners, investigation guides, and post-screeners. Save hours of planning.

🌐 Go Bilingual

All simulations and tasks are available in English and Spanish (es-419). Great for dual-language classrooms and ELL students.

📊 Monitor Progress

The teacher dashboard shows which standards your class has mastered and where students need extra support. Use insights to guide instruction.

📱 No App Needed

Everything runs in the browser. Students can access sims.science from any device with internet — no IT department required.

🔒 Privacy Built In

No student data is collected or sold. Student accounts need only a username — no email, no real name required.
